Altered easel ad infinitum

Recipe: start with a painting of an easel called "The Forbidden Red Wing," clear the negative space, create your text path, cogitate for a spell, wiki till you find that perfect something and obfuscate with a liberal dose of latin. Est autem fides credere quod nondum vides; cujus fidei merces…

Just a tiny little thing

Journaling 101

In June the Treasure Valley Artists' Alliance held a panel discussion on journaling. The artists on the panel included Melissa 'Sasi' Chambers, Lisa Cheney, Pam McKnight, Terry Burkes, Jeanette Ross, and Beau van Greener, moderated by Dr. Kathleen Keyes. The "Aha!" moment for me happened when each of the artists…

Study in black and white and ghostly

Here's the latest houseghost progression. For the past few paintings I've been trying out a new technique -- creating a black/white/gray image first, then overlaying color. What I've discovered is that oftentimes the intermediate steps are fine and could be finished images all on their own.
