The Duchess’s place is vast — its doors are massive, its windows reach up to the twenty foot ceilings in the main hall, and its striped carpeting is unending. It took all her strength to slide the heavy wooden door into its pocket, and it was only partly open at best. She stood there, took a deep breath and tentatively peered out into the hallway.
