House Ghost with a Story, oil on board with text added, Michael Chambers

Let me just tell you a thing or two about these houseghosts. They walk around as if they own the place. But they don’t. They don’t own the place. They’re just visitors. Not owners. And as visitors they have very few rights. They do, and I emphasize do, get to roam around the place and they have access to all the rooms. They don’t go outside. Isn’t that odd? They stick close to the inside. Have you every heard of a backyard ghost or a street ghost or anything like that? Hmm? Me neither. So, anyway, these houseghosts flit from room to room with their little coffee cups, hoping you’ll visit with them for a while and share your thoughts. They’re good listeners too. Just start talking and they’ll start listening. When I talk to this one, she paces around and stops and thinks and nods her head reeeaal slow. She doesn’t say anything — actually, I think none of them say anything. Listeners. What’s that good for? You  tell me.

I’m listening.
