I was born on an American army base in Vicenza, Italy. Growing up, I moved more than a dozen times in the United States and in Europe. And I got to visit Venice, Rome, Florence, Heidelberg, Munich and Pisa. The experience of seeing so much great European art had a huge influence on me!
Later, at the New Orleans Center for Creative Arts, my teachers Frank and Jean Gross provided encouragement as well as high expectations. One of the highlights was working with artist Emery Clark on her 1/4-mile long street painting The NOMA Nile in front of the New Orleans Museum of Art for the King Tut exhibit.
I earned art degrees at Louisiana State University, Purdue and Queens College. I married my high school sweetheart Melissa. We raised two children and moved to Boise.
Throughout my career I’ve exhibited mostly in Boise and New Orleans, but I’ve also shown my work in Indianapolis, Sun Valley, Virginia Beach and New York City.
In 2010, Melissa and I banded together with a group of local Boise artists including Will Spearman, Amber Daley and Penny Lea Mackie to form the Treasure Valley Artists Alliance. My involvement in TVAA provided tons of opportunities to collaborate with other artists.
